About Karen
Karen is an artist, illustrator and graphic designer who investigates and observes the world that we inhabit. Constantly sketching, photographing and writing gives her plenty of original and creative material for her limited edition prints and stationery ranges and a platform for the artwork and design for her client projects.
Graduating in 2017 with an MA in Contemporary Art Practice, Karen has exhibited her paintings, drawings, installations and text internationally, in London and in the South West. She has sold her drawings and paintings successfully and designed popular greetings cards, prints and corporate branding for her own catalogue and for clients for several years as a freelance artist.
As well as running three hares studio, Karen has an art practice that has evolved from walking, performance and our relationship with landscape. Her more experimental work can be seen on her own website.
About three hares studio
The three hares studio is based in Ashburton or ‘Essebretorne’ in the Doomsday book, an ancient stannery town with its own parliament, house of cards and plenty of legends on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon. The three hares design for our logo comes from the Dartmoor tinner’s symbol of three rabbits that can be found carved in secret places on the moor and, as hares, the symbol can be found in nooks and crannies as far away as Nepal.
